I have a love-hate relationship with technology.
LOVE:
-the Internet
-skipping commercials
-the convenience
HATE:
-our wireless router doesn't work so we have to use a 100ft cord to get downstairs
-when people cut their phones off after asking me to call them right away
-getting the infamous blackberry "hourglass of death"
Some days I feel like I'd be better off chunking all of modern technology out the window. Well, maybe not the dvr. I do enjoy a good episode of Cash Cab.
But on days like yesterday, I wouldn't trade the promise of a "simple" life for anything.
We got to Skype with Sam and Elisabeth when they woke up from their naps! They were really excited to talk with us, and us with them! Elisabeth loved saying, "Hey Da-dee" and "Ma-ma!" Sam told us that SammyDog ate his corn cob and had to go to the doctor. Next it was time to show off what they have been doing. We watched Sam climb a chair and slide down. Then we saw Elisabeth push her shopping cart around the house while saying, "Hey Sam. Hey Sam." SammyDog even came over to wag for the camera. I tried to think of some fun tricks that I could show them. Thankfully, they are easily entertained. They both loved when I drank water, ate an orange, and showed them a triangle. Then we all told each other how much we love one another. It was really sweet!
Then Sam kissed us goodbye. That's the best pucker I've seen in a while! We can't wait to get home so he plant a real live wet one on our cheeks!
A big THANK YOU goes out to Aunt Graham for watching them this week.*
*More to come on why most of our arrangements got altered while we were away, including why Sam wore the same shirt for 2 and a half consecutive days.
